With two headships spanning a decade of leadership experience behind him, Duncan possesses strong operational and strategic knowledge and is well-respected for project management of major transitions in both his current and previous schools; he also served as the Chair of the IAPS Sixteen Group prior to working as a strategic consultant. A fundamental tenet for Duncan’s appointment is his opinion that all schools need to think ahead and consider how they are going to remain relevant and viable in a competitive market at a time of great economic challenge.

“I am delighted to join MTM Consulting with its outstanding reputation as a company of great integrity and personality. I look forward to enlightening school leaders and trustees about the powerful scope of MTM research and how it can ensure that key strategic decisions are taken from a fully informed basis,” said Duncan.

Commenting on his appointment, James Leggett, Managing Director of MTM Consulting, said

“As a business, we have high standards for the calibre of people we want to join our team and I am thrilled that Duncan will be working with us and adding an extra layer of practical knowledge on top of our research. With Duncan’s expertise, schools can consider how best to future-proof themselves with the potential to explore options such as diversification from single sex to co-education, expansion of Early Years, provision up to GCSE or beyond, even acquisitions, mergers and takeovers.”

The appointment of Duncan increases the number of MTM specialists to eight and follows a year of record-breaking turnover growth for the company in the last twelve months.
