One of our top tips for schools when it comes to social media is to create a content calendar. It’s likely that you know what’s happening around your school in advance, so why not plan ahead so you know what you’re posting? That way, you spend far less time trying to find something to post and a structured approach means that you can ask people for content in advance – you can even ask teachers to send pictures for a particular deadline or write some new posts ready to go out.
We’ve created our monthly calendar of key dates for March – a useful place to start. And a useful tool for teachers when it comes to their planning too. Tie in key dates and themes with what’s going on at your school – likelihood is they’ll be trending. But don’t fall into the trap of just talking about ‘what’ you’re doing – explain why and how this ties in to your key messages.
