A levels – congratulations not only on the results but the personal stories too! featured image

The wait is finally over and the success stories have been pouring in over social media. We would like to add our congratulations to all of the pupils who together have worked tirelessly for their A level results. Behind them are a dedicated set of teachers and supportive families, who must all feel incredibly proud.

Whilst education is not all about A level results, it is fair to say that they do tell the story of your educational journey to date and open the doors to your future. There are endless social media posts with percentages and results, but it is the personal stories that we love the most – we connect with them. Behind each set of results is an individual with a personal story. They chose the subjects they did because they were inspired, or someone believed in them, or even gave them the confidence that they needed to succeed. Teachers must never underestimate their influence in shaping the future of their pupils.

I thought I’d share my favourite personal story – Sara Owen, a pupil of Rydal Penrhos secured A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, as well as an A in AS level Physics, securing her place at King’s College London to study Medicine (her dream). This alone is an inspirational story but add to that, the fact that she has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at the same time, and you realise what an extraordinary character she truly is – just amazing!

So congratulations to all not only on the results, but the inspirational stories too!
